Bumble Bee Seafoods joins NFI Salmon Council

The National Fisheries Insititute (NFI) on Thursday announced that Bumble Bee Seafoods, has joined the NFI Salmon Council.

“The Salmon Council is excited to partner with Bumble Bee Seafoods,” said Judy Dashiell, NFI’s senior VP. “Bumble Bee’s salmon products are not only healthy and delicious, but easy to include in a variety of meals because they are versatile and convenient.”

Chris Lischewski, Bumble Bee president, views the NFI Salmon Council as an opportunity for salmon companies to work together to reach the U.S. market. “The Salmon Council is a good example of ‘Tides rise all boats’,” said Lischewski. “Bumble Bee Seafoods is proud to join the Salmon Council in further marketing a delicious, healthy product.”

Salmon Council Chairman Jim Walstrom believes there is strong momentum within the council. “It’s time for all salmon companies to join the Salmon Council,” said Walstrom. “We have many iconic companies within our ranks — and the door is open to everyone.”

The Salmon Council was established in January 2013 for the promotion of salmon in the U.S. market. The Salmon Council’s nineteen-company membership represents wild, farmed, domestic and imported products.
