Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.-based P&D Seafood Company has merged with Pacific Fresh and Golden State Seafood.

Founded in 1985, P&D Seafood describes itself as one of the largest seafood importers and distributors in Los Angeles. It performs daily deliveries of fresh and frozen seafood products to restaurants, markets, hotels, catering services, and conventions in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and San Diego, California.

Also based in Los Angeles, Pacific Fresh Fish supplies a variety of seafood, including trout, mussels, clams, conch, crab, tuna, oysters, sculpin, and snapper. It was absorbed by Golden State Seafood in 2018. Golden State Seafood claims to be the largest salmon processor in Los Angeles.

The transaction came to pass after P&D Seafood Owner and President Peter Wang decided to retire, according to vendor notices obtained by SEAFAX, which reported the company’s business will be conducted under the Pacific Fresh Fish name beginning 1 July 2024.

"We are excited to let you know that our sales team and most of our staff will be hired and joining the Pacific Fresh / Golden State Seafood family," the letter said. "The integration marks an exciting new chapter for our company and represents a significant step forward in our mission to bring you the highest-quality products and services. By transferring our business and our current customers to Pacific Fresh, we will be able to expand our product offerings, enhance our distribution capabilities, and continue our commitment to excellence and innovation in the seafood industry."

Pacific Fresh Fish is listed as a creditor in the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of Red Lobster, the seafood restaurant chain partially owned by Thai Union.
