Irish building materials firm Kingspan is continuing a marketing push to inform Asia’s seafood industry about its insulation solutions for food processing, chilled, and cold applications.

The company is a global leader in producing insulation with high thermodynamic efficiency. Its QuadCore technology is specifically geared toward the food and beverage industry, aiding food manufacturing processes and temperature-controlled storage, according to Kingspan Southeast Asia Business Development Manager Jarlath Farmer.

“We do a lot of business with the seafood industry, but we want do more,” Farmer told SeafoodSource at the 2024 Seafood Expo Asia, where Kingspan was exhibiting.

Kingspan recently opened a new factory in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, which will soon be churning out 10,000 to 20,000 square meters of product weekly and includes the company’s QuadCoreTM KSP1100CS Coldstore Panel series, which is specifically designed for cold storage facilities with temperatures ranging from -40 degrees Celsius to ambient, as well as chill rooms, cleanrooms, and food-processing facilities.

“We’re just doing all our final testing for certification at the moment,” Farmer said. “This is our first manufacturing facility in Asia, and we’re excited that it allows us to bring our high-quality product as a local solution to our Asian customers.”

Farmer said Kingspan’s QuadCore technology provides around a 10 percent improvement on insulative value over competing products, giving seafood companies the ability to save money and meet environmental goals.

“We think this is a fantastic solution for Asia’s seafood industry,” Farmer said. “We're doing marketing campaigns on our website and on LinkedIn, and we've got staff in Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines to help spread the word.”
