30 July, 2010 - Trace Register and Global Food Technologies (GFT) on Thursday announced that they signed a licensing agreement allowing GFT to use the Trace Register traceability system in its food-safety and quality-assurance program, iPura seal.

The system is a web-based program that enables companies to track their products through the entire supply chain. The system serves as an information supply chain that overlays the physical supply chain, connecting all trading partners.

The partnership will help GFT provide retailers, restaurant operators, processors, marketers and certifiers with electronic chain traceability to support environmental sustainability programs, and an additional level of assurance to participants in the iPura seal program.

"We are the first and we will be the exclusive supplier of traceability to this prestigious food-safety program," said Andy Furner, VP of Trace Register. "It is our hope that this alliance will become a model for other providers of food-safety programs seeking a robust traceability platform."
